Can you think back
to when you were young?
When boys had cooties
and were the last thing you were thinking of!
When the smallest thing brought you joy,
even if it was just a tiny toy!
When everyone was considered
to be your friend!
When your heart never got broken,
so it never had a reason to mend!
When going to the playground
was your favorite thing to do
and where babies came from,
you didnt have a clue!
When you were so excited
about the first day of skewl,
and your older sibling
was way too cool!
When name brand clothes
were the least important thing,
and you just couldnt wait
to see what santa was going to bring!
When you couldnt sleep
unless you had that teddy bear,
and you cried
the first time you had to cut your hair!
When going to wal-mart,
the toy isle was your place,
and going to grandmas
always put a smile on your face!
When you got so excited
just because you lost a tooth,
and you always tried your hardest
to tell your mom the truth!
When you tried to learn to ride your bike
but you always fell,
and your mom would tell you try again
because she knew you would excel!
When you were young
everything was great,
now things aren't as important
and move at the fastest rate!
