FADED IMAGES IN A TECHNO-COLOUR WORLD

by Gary Jurechka   Oct 4, 2005

The larkspur serenity
of cicada evenings
melancholy whispers
of memory
fuchsia laughter
abruptly broken by the
turning of the world

an autumn orchestra
plays a sepia symphony
and you find you have grown
numb and listless
a faded gray soul
amidst the radiant carnage
of haunting dreams

circa 1998-1999

I love the use of the word "melancholy". My favorite word by far....
    These lines are remarkable:

    "a faded gray soul
    amidst the radiant carnage
    of haunting dreams "

    Intriguing as always~Holly
