He kicked the world

by kathy   Oct 4, 2005

He kicked the world
and it's unjust fairness
but what he didn't expect
was for the world to kick back.
he took his anger out
on a world that treated him so unkindly,
but the harder he kicked
the harder the world kicked back.
he was bruised and broken,
crucified at the mind.
he was beaten to the floor
by a world so unfair
so unjust
so unkind.
tears flooded his eyes
as he fell in defeat
time had stopped for the weeping man
then he thought
maybe...
just maybe...
this unfairness was fair.
maybe we need to feel pain.
Time went forward,
as the man stopped kicking,
he healed,
accepted his fate,
his pain,
and lived.
