Confusion

by Flying Phoenix   Oct 5, 2005

Lying on my single bed
I gaze hazily at the ceiling
I try and think hard about those words that you said
But still I dont understand their meaning
A piece of plaster in a corner
Is peeling off slowly from the rest
Just the way my mind feels separated
Im troubled as if its a test

My thoughts are confused
Yet I still want your comforting arm around me
But when I watch his smiles
It is thoughts of him that surround me
He shouldnt be there in my head
Where I want you to be
As I lay there on my bed
Im still too dazed to see

That there you lie, just like I
Thinking about what you just said
Wondering why with a lingering sigh
The things I mentioned are tumbling around your head
Your gaze falls down upon a picture
Taken a few months before
In your arms I am there
And you tumble off to the floor

Realisation dawned all at once
For why you felt this way
Was just because youd been wrong
And all along
Really you wanted to say

I love you so much it breaks me to say
I want us together to feel this way

AWWWWW. brillo pads. a lot of emotion, and brill imagery: love the peeling plaster/confused mind simile. 5/5
