Hidden Behind Conformity

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Oct 6, 2005

Walking through the hall, surrounded by conformity.
Girls wearing white blouses, green plaid skirts.
Guys wearing gray pants, white blouses and ties.
Looking through the hall, everyone looks the same.

Walking, I fit right in, my identity hidden.
My green eyes cover what isn't meant to stand out.
My bright smile shines, the truth unnoticed.
My skirt and my blouse reflect others, conformity.

Looking through the hall, everyone hides who they truly are.
Hidden behind conformity, forced to conceal ourselves.
Fitting in with others, forced to fake my identity.
Forced to cover my truth, hidden behind conformity.

*yet another draft... it doesn't sound right.
