I look at her, so peaceful and calm,
Lying on the floor with her wrist in her palm.
Her tears of red and her face of white,
She didn't know that tonight was THE night.
Free from sorrow, pain, and despair,
No matter how hard she tried, her heart, she alone, could not repair.
No one else knew but me and her,
Memories of him were just one big blur.
She loved him deeply with everything she had,
And when he finally told her that's when everything turned bad.
No one understood it, or really even cared,
But no one could have known about the love that they'd once shared
Photographs and memories flooded her head,
All she could think about was the last thing he had said.
Nothing made sense, had she done something wrong?
For once in her life she figured out she had never belonged.
She quickly made a wish, as she took her final breath,
All she wanted was to be happy, and that required death. Her wish that night before she died was that she had been everything she could be,
And I'm not ashamed to admit that, that girl was me.
