Unsent Letters

by Timothy S   Oct 6, 2005

He wrote in that chair, a letter everyday
Not one was sent for he chose to keep to himself
Didn't wanna ruin her more than he did back then
Wanted to cling onto what he had left
The memories he had of when they were together
Hid it away that he couldn't live without her
When he slept, he wanted to sleep forever
To hold onto his dreams that he wish she still dreamt
So when he woke up with wet eyes
He washed his face and put on his smile
Walked to the mailbox and picked up the paper
Waved to the neighbors and went back inside
He sat in the chair out on the patio
Stared into the morning sun asking
Where did you go? Then he wrote
His morning letter, one day he'll send them
One day, he'll let her know
How much he still cared for her

I like it a lot. It had a good story line to it. Why doesnt he just send the letters now? I mean- later on in life, they wont mean anything to her. She might be married with kids by then. Don't answer these questions..I like the love interest it brings. And the suspence for what will happen. Good work! Hope to check out more of your art.
