Why?

She sits quietly
trying not to cry
looking at what her mother bare
silently laying there

not knowing what to do
thinking of her parents forgetting
her promiss not to cry
wondering why they had to die

the silent killer
that came and went
the bombs that ate them whole
leaving them unable to finish their goals

she sits there
silent as a shadow
thinking of their last wish
remembering their favorite dish

she tries ti hold on
to her precious memories
she smiles as she thinks of one
but, NO it's all done

her parents, her sister
all of her friends
now gone and swept away
by a killer unable to be kept at bay

why has this happened
and why is she thonly one
why she wonders silently
has she survived this tragedy

so many people now gone
she starts to shiver
both the young and the old
she feels her body get all cold

she recalls slowly all that has happened
the days buried beneath the rubble
the people screaming
the fires burning

she screams inside
at all the horror she had to see
the burnt up bodies on the ground
many more still not found

as she sits quietly
trying not to cry
looking at what everyone had to bear
silently laying there

once again she wonders why has this happened
and why is she the only one
why she wonders silently
is she the one who survived this tragedy
