What's on your wrist?

by Ellesse McClain   Oct 7, 2005

What's on your wrist?,
I'm asked that a lot,
nothing I say as I look away,
thinking of what they thought,

I wanna come out ans say the truth,
here is why I say,
It's because of this thing they call love,
and what happens everyday,

Not knowing of the outcome,
that day I picked up that blade,
started cutting away,
It was only for that day,

Then it really hiht me,
the pain sunk within,
I didn't know what it was,
until I talked to him,

I didn't expect you to care,
It was only two or three,
then I really thought about it,
this could really set me free,

People started to worry,
I told mom I fell down some stairs,
made it up from my head,
there the exact words I said,

one day a teacher noticed,
didn't think to even ask me,
assumed the ones I truley loved,
were beating me,

depression is my answer, but people ask why,
I think to myself,
it started with a cry,

from there it grew in to so much more,
the scars they surely show,

you don't understand why,
so don't even ask,

I know it was foolish,
I know that it was dumb,
If i could go back,
it would of never been done,

now you know the answer,
please don't judge me for it,
its a mistake i want to take back,
and the scars are pay back for it.
