Drawn Crowd

by k i k i   Oct 8, 2005

Crowded streets, faces with no colour,
Drained with no soul intact.
Rain bucketing down,
There's no place to keep dry.
It's already to late,
Racing away to find any hope.

Ropes guarding any entry in,
No exit in sight.
Barricades in place,
To stop another thrashing attack.
Circles of communicators,
A vision; once in this lifetime.

Babies screaming for some air,
Others holding onto anything they can grab.
Ground shakes, again everyone's down,
And I'm caught in the middle of a stampede.
Trampled over, you're still by my side,
Hands so tight never leave me.

Lights shut down,
Lifts come to a halt.
Dead streets of shadows,
Of those who once made this place work.
Market down, just the same as
Everything else in eyes sight.

Swamped in, I'm left there to die,
Grab me fast, higher then before.
Eyes weeping, wanting to share
Another first kiss in the rain.
I don't want to lose you,
No I don't, not again.

After all the obstacles we've been through,
We'll stand tall, hold on tight.
Pain and happiness, strength to carry on,
Everyday by your side.
