The Lonesome Dove Cries Too

by My tormented little heart   Oct 8, 2005

The dove represents peace during a time of war
But no battles have been this vicious before
No screams can be heard on the outside
As the defenses of the head and heart collide

This is the worst fight anyone could envision
A soldier's been locked inside her own prison
Depression and loneliness are her only two friends
They promised to be there for her till the end

The burdens bearing down and still she stays strong
She's been a trooper all along
She never flinched or cried in pain
They pick out her soul till nothing remains

There she huddles in a corner
Just another silent mourner
The feelings she has must be true
For the lonesome dove cries too
