I stand still

by kathy   Oct 8, 2005

The world spins around me
as i stand still
a blurred picture
painted with red

my arms dangle by my sides
as i cry my tears of pain
my white gown stained
with innocence leaking away

i sway in the wind
my hands tremble with fear
my halo melts away
and my knees buckle in pain

i remove the white gown
stained with my own blood
and don one of black
the blackest black of all

i shiver and curl into a ball
i feel like falling from this earth
i wish to spin again
to be young again

i have matured beyond my age
i have gone to a place
i don't want to be
i am melting away

the world spins around me
as i stand still
a blurred picture
painted with red
