Of Shadow Blood

by GoddessOfWings   Oct 10, 2005

The silver moon frowns as it watches me,
the icy blade breaks my skin with one, swift slice;
my blood drips slowly down, creating fragile splatters on my paper,
it reveals how much I have changed, from light to shadow.

Black candles surround me as I fade into a trance,
I hold my wrist high above me and stroke the millionth scar;
a sigh, a tear, a scream, a death;
I remain what I have become, always.

Nightmares capture me every night when I sleep,
I start my poem with positive thinking but only dark words trail out,
I waltz on my own in the darkness that surrounds me;
I am just an ordinary teenage girl. I am of shadow blood.
