The Real Me

by Katherine   Oct 10, 2005

Look deep into
My eyes
and tell me what you see
can you see my pain?
My tears?
My scars?
My problems?
Anything?
You can't, right?

I'll tell you
why you can't see
the real me.
You see
I wear a mask
that covers
the real me.
Not letting you see
All the pain
I have inside.
All the tears
I cry before

I go to sleep
at night.
All the problems
I have at home.
All the scars
I have
hidden under my sleeve.
All the thought of ending
my life.

This mask is
a show I play
covering
the real me.

But now that
you know about
my all mighty mask
I guessâ?¦
You have just
figured outâ?¦
the real me.
