Oranges

by Katherine   Oct 10, 2005

Before I walked out the door,
I took a last look at the mirror
making sure my hair was fine
I hope he likes it
I thought.
Finally I decided
I looked perfect.
I opened up the door
putting my gloves on,
I looked up meeting his eyes,
I felt my cheek
turn hot.
I think he noticed
cuz he gave me a smile.
When we started walking
I felt his hand
on my shoulder,
It was warm
and smooth
making me a bit
tingly inside.
I wonder if hes
as nervous as me?
He turned to the candy store
then he opened the door
for me

How sweet
I though.
Then walked in
he asked to pick what I wanted.
I headed to the
chocolates
checking for the
cheapest thing
not wanting him
to think I'm selfish.
I picked a
cookies and cream chocolate bar
it was only 10 cents.
Not so expensive, right?
I gave it to him
and noticed he didn't have
enough money
cuz I saw from
behind the door,
him giving the lady
behind the counter
a nickel and an orange.
How he cute he looks.
Maybe we can do this again
some other time
but maybe then
I'll pick something
less expensive.
