Downed Defenses

by M MEM   Oct 12, 2005

You tried to let someone in,
And your fortress of defense falls.
Unwanted eyes looking,
Awkward.
Ah what the hell did you do?
So naked,
The world staring at you,
Is this supposed to help?
Opening yourself,
No more.
Worsening the situation.
Who knew,
For you own good,
Could hurt you so much?

You really remind me of myself. Egotistical as it may seem, that's probably why I like your writing. This poem was eloquently written, I enjoyed it.
