He Called Me

by Mac   Oct 12, 2005

He called me 'woman' with ten years in between

Sounds of rebellion and intensity marked his words,

He fought for that which could be better,

Through speech and daily actions.

With an ever growing knowledge,

And a willing ear to listen

He took interest in others

Called them as they were.

Made them feel useful, intelligent, assertive

Unique.

He spoke of omens, and kisses caught on air,

Of children and ringed moons,

Of unpopped bubbles,

Of left and right, wrong,

Politics, and social status.

Of being created equally, but living out our differences,

But that which i will ever recall,

Years after communications cease,

He called me 'woman' with ten years in between
