Danger

Danger lurks around each bend,
Wanting; waiting
For an unsuspecting by-passer
To fall quickly
Into its trap.

As I hesitantly proceed,
Nearing the bend,
The bend where all life ends,
I stop and wait;
Waiting, in fear.

In fear of the unknown danger.
A danger so inhumane,
All I can do,
Is wait…
In fear.

A fear so great,
I would jump,
At the drop of a pin.
At the buzz,
Of another’s breathe.

And jump I do,
I jump as high
As the moon
Scared, out of my shoes

Waiting,
Fearing,
Jumping,
And…
