Ive had to wait for this thing thats going to change my life, almost 5 years.
I dont know whether to cheer or break down in tears.
What if my parents dont love me the same?
If so, Who will there be to blame?
The big wait is over, Mum is in hospital and I have just hours until my life turns inside out.
I wonder if my parents have any doubts.
Suddenly a car pulls in the driveway and my dad comes in at a fast pace, with a huge smile on his bright face.
The ride to the hospital is long; I just sit there with my dad humming to my favourite song.
We walk up to mums room, she looks tired and worn like a beaten up rat. There is a small box on wheels next to her bed. There is a name on it, That name is Claudia Nadine Broadbridge. And the picture is of a cat.
I walk over to the box on wheels, The pink creature inside squeals. I look up to my dad and he says- This is your new sister.
I thought she looked like a sore red popped blister.
After she was washed off, My father sat in his own world staring into her eyes. She was the cutest little dwarf.
When my dad came to, I was aloud to hold her.
I held Claudia in my arms and talked in the softest pur.
Her hair was golden blonde, Her eyes the brightest blue.
Delivered to my family and I, all brand new.
*This poem is about the happiest day in my childhood, When my baby sister was born.*
