How About You (Part II)

by A Heart Losing Hope   Oct 13, 2005

If I had one wish,
anything of my desire,
I know,
without hesitation,
what it would be-
Happiness.
Not within myself,
but within her;
the love of my life.
Each day I try my best,
and succeed,
to some extent,
to make her happy.
I give her everything she wants,
objects and love abound.
And each day I see her smile,
because of me,
and I as-well,
because of her.
And each day I see her smile,
and pray at night to see her smile once again.
But I know,
it may not last forever,
no matter how hard I try,
or how intensely I hold on.
But I also know,
that if it ends,
she will be happy;
even though
I am not part of that happiness.
And I am OK with that.
Because I know that i had done all I can,
everything in my power,
to make her happy.
And that my leaving,
somehow,
will make her happy in time.
Each night,
I still pray,
to anyone who will hear my earthly cry,
that we hold strong,
and never dispense of one another.

Great poem... it really says alot when you want the other person to be happier than yourself. That's when you know it's true love! Great job, 5/5
