I look up.
I look down.
I feel it all around me.
I don't know what it is.

I want it to go.
But I want it to stay.
If it leaves me now
I'll want it back.

It surrounds me.
All around me.
It has found me.
In my room.

With you here I feel alone
But I also feel quite safe.
I don't know what you hide within
But I'm trusting you.

I roll over and stare into you
You stare right back.
You don't reveal anything.
Secrets in your midst.

I'm scared but I feel safe.
I'm cold but I feel warm.
I hate you but I love you.
Your scary but your fun.

I look out the window.
Your out there too.
Everywhere.
Covering everything.

You are the master.
Nothing can hide from you.
You'll find them.
Anywhere they are.

But I don't mind you.
You come every night.
I'm used to you now.
I don't shake anymore.

But soon you'll leave.
And they will come for me.
Blinding me.

I'm so confused.
But they will come no matter what.

They, like you, will conquer all.
No one can escape.
They will let everything show.
Whilst you hide it.

Things lurk in you.
Scary things.
Things I do not know.
