Happily Ever After

by Autumn   Oct 13, 2005

The prince saved the princes
They kissed
And lived
Happily ever after

Lame
Not real
Fake
A lie

The prince cheated on her
With her step sister
Now that's more like the truth
The princess was hurt
When she found out
And cut herself
To bleed away the tears

And finally
She just snapped
And the prince didn't know what to do
Nor did he really care
As long as his little Prince was kept happy
It didn't really matter what she did

But the bitter sweet truth
Is that as soon as she ended her pain
He realized
Just how much she meant to him
He tried to ignore it

The pain inside
It grew everyday
Consuming him
Taunting him
Torturing him
Soon, he joined his beloved

The woman he betrayed
Yet had loved at the same time
He had hoped to finally be with her
But that hope was quickly squashed
For it was not to be

Fate often has different plans than ours
Often ones that do not please us

He was there
But she was gone
Already off in another lifetime
Now he was the one
Betrayed and forgotten
And so he wept

We know what you're thinking
Stupid people, this isn't a happy ending

Foolish
Nave
Idiotic
Is what you are
You might be fooled
But we know the truth
There is no such thing as a happy ending.
