True Love Is Blind

You would think that with all the tears I cry
You would at least take the time to lie
Instead of having me blame myself why
Leaving me wondering and to deny.
Through my tears I cannot see
Why on earth you are doing this to me
Such callus and hurting me so intentionally
How did this situation come to be?
Who ever thought we would see the day?
You and I both with nothing left to say
Both ready to turn our backs and walk away
Who could have thought our ties would go astray.
As I stand here myself and nothing more
I’m asking for things to be like they were before
While your eyes stare back at mine so unsure
I turn my back, walk away and I close the door.
Leaving the remnants of you and I behind
In search of a new beginning to find
As much as I love you and with thoughts so kind
I have now learned that true is blind.
