Engraved upon my skin.

by Forsaken Redeemer   Oct 16, 2005

My emotional needs placed upon my physical form,
My arms, my wrists, legs and thighs,
Leaving marks and scratches,
The consequences of your lies.

You think I can't see what you want,
You think I can't perceive
What you're asking me to do,
What you want me to believe.

You think I can't understand,
I'm a lost little girl, driven insane,
We both know it's you,
You just find someone else to blame.

Your name and meaning, your vicious words,
Engraved upon my skin,
You think you can beat me, break me,
Think you can win.

You give me such sweet words,
Then such cruelty in your poisoned rose,
You build me up
Then crush my last hopes.

You break my heart and kill my soul,
Watching as it withers and dies,
Asking me to do the same
To some poor innocent soul in front of my eyes.

Sat all alone in my room,
Knowing you'll come to watch my tears as I cry,
I ask for one moment of peace,
that you'll leave me, even though I'll be denied.

I wish I could leave, and I know that I can,
Sitting here writing my goodbyes,
Waiting for the pills to work
As you watch my moment of suicide...
