FATHER

by -Lestat-   Oct 16, 2005

Alone in the dark he sits.
Hurt, worry, being torn to bits.

A lone soldier by day,
Keeps the pain at bay.

He brakes down like an infant.
But only momentarily, just for an instant.

In the morning he is strong again.
He has a family to defend.

Lying to himself just to make it through.
No-one notices, hes hurting to.

Wondering when this madness will end,
So that he can begin to live again.

I can see the pain in his eyes.
I can see right through his lies.

No matter how hard he tries.
Sometimes he wants to lay down and die.

Holding on to a families past.
How much longer can he last?

Please heal this poor mans wounds.
Before he falls in ruins.

Realize what we have cause for now hes torn.
But soon this great man will be gone.

In you I love and trust forever after.
I love you my friend, my father.

This poem is about my step-father. Though I see him as my real father. He is always there for me and the family. It kills him at times but he continues on. This is a truly amazing man. I love you dad. Never forget that.
