Unified Norm (Fight Against the Threads)

by EpithetPoet   Oct 16, 2005

With each word you breathe
Becomes a gossamer thread
Entangling itself around me
Crushing every word i said

Pinching and pressing
Pustules white as blood
Screaming past their limit
Their lies dipped in mud

In agony i creep ahead
The threads constricting tighter
Tears get trapped underneath my flesh
As the pustules become whiter

Fire flashes beneath my eyes
Its tendrils licking my cheeks
Fashioning my last vain attempt
I clutch the dirt, too weak

And in that moment i give up hope
All the pustules recede without form
The threads drift off, my eyes rest hallow
I mechanically return to 'the norm'

*I cant really classify what the 'norm' is because everyone's is different. i just know i dont want to conform to what the 'unified norm' is. and i hope i never do.
