Shadow of Memories

by LadyPearl   Oct 17, 2005

Sapphire skies and raging clouds, darken slowly to night
memories of birth and of all my joys and losts
come flowing one by one into my eager sight
reminded of a past in which I lived and cherished

drifting far, far away, now I'm on my own
always searching for the things I have forgotten
speechless, I show no emotions, I am now stone
for sorrow has taken what my soul once contained

Mixing the lies and truths, confusion states my mind
begin to fall to my temptations, and dreams that I had held
In the presence of God, his doing is so ever kind
yet this hole in my heart is forever teared

loneliness is word in which I have breathed and know
emptiness is word in which have shattered my lonely soul
staring at the stars twinkling full of innocence and growing slow
wish I was still a child carefree from the world itself

No miracles can heal this pain of self mental harm
my memories takes my hope for returning to the past
the night, silent and still, emotions fade to calm
now I rest inside my dreams, dreams without this pain

Lots of emotion in this one, but the lines seems to go on forever. It kinda discourage readers.

My advice is find a way to shorten it a bit. =)

Good job, Noni! This was another GREAT poem! My favorite stanza was:

"Mixing the lies and truths, confusion states my mind
begin to fall to my temptations, and dreams that I had held
In the presence of God, his doing is so ever kind
yet this hole in my heart is forever teared"

Good job and keep up the great work!

    Love always,
    ~BJ~
