My pain

I'm closeted in
walls closing around me
screaming while I choke
on well wishes and pleasantries

people crowd me
but I'm alone
gasping for air
flailing in an infinite abyss

I can feel nothing around me
yet I'm trapped, claustrophobic, enclosed
I'm crying,
but my pain is soundless

no one can tell
so no one can help
and without solace
I can never heal
