My Mother

by Yakori bint Muhammed   Oct 17, 2005

2003.

She builds my happiness
Makes me see the beauty of nature
Feels my heart with optimism and love
You are indeed a mum

Teaches me in the college of life
Scolds my juvenile exuberance
And shines forth in experience
To illuminate my teenage womanhood

When anxiety stares
She calms
Comfort frail nerves
The still-small voice of encouragement
In the tunnel of despair
What a dependable mum

Tells me
Womanhood is pride of creation
Not inadequacy
Nor liability
I not appendage of manhood

Tells me
Self ascertain makes for relevance
More so
In an ill-seeming macho world

Who can reward you?
Not me
May your recompense lies
In the knowing
I remain on-course

How so thoughful of you, thanks loads my brother. Mothers are precious, only God can reward them. Nothing we do can show our infinite gratitude towards them; may we be guided towards the right path in granting them their wishes. Take care, Cheers!

You described a mothers love beautifully with your words. Mothers should indeed be appreciated for the hard work they do in raising us and the love they show us despite us being spoiled sometimes. When you are sick, they are there to nurse you. Wonderful dear

Thanks for the lovely words. As you said "just cherish every moment with her now". Thats what i'm doing but you know no matter how you try to cherish those moments, it's never enough. We can only give thanks to The Almighty for their life.
