It's A Game...

by Kristen   Oct 17, 2005

All of this is a game of trust, to see who can beat who.
To see who can come out the strongest in the end.
This isn't a game where if you're losing, you can quit, oh no, it's much more complecated than that.
In the beginning, I thought every word you said was the truth.
There was not a doubt in my mind that you weren't perfect for me.
As the game progressed, you began to find ways of cheating, getting yourself out of things.
I just sat back and played my part like any other person in this game would.
Soon everything started to get heavier, the tears began to show and that's when everything got rough, like a car stuck in the mud.
I never understood the way you played, and you completely understood how I played.
But you insisted that you continue to play your way.
Turning the corner and here I thought everything was going to get better, it only got worse.
In the end, I ended up loding the game, and winning a broken heart.
