The Girl I Hate

by Heather Prior   Oct 18, 2005

I sing songs, with no sound.
I write poems, with no words.
I live, with no heart.

Standing in the mirror
I see the girl I hate.
I once saw someone I loved
But that was long ago
When you created her.

I sleep, but get no rest.
I eat, but am always hungry.
I think, but have no thoughts.

Seeing the blade
I know that I can kill her
The girl in the mirror
The girl that I hate
So I try it, little by little every day.

I run, but go nowhere.
I read, with no imagination.
I daydream, of nightmares.

So many scars
Yet she's still there
Standing in the mirror
My last chance to kill her
I take the gun and shoot.

I fly by falling.
I smile by frowning.
I live by dieing.
