Last thought of you

by nikki   Dec 6, 2003

My love was lost my lost was found
And in your eyes my cause was bound
Like you to me our love set free
And from one touch I loved you so much
But when you said it had to end
I could not take it in
I knew what you were saying
But I didn’t want to believe you, I was praying
Praying for you to be lying
Praying for you to be my wed
Praying for it to never of happened
Praying for you to be back in my bed
But I knew that the love we had
The love that was there now gone
I knew I had no place to be
I knew I didn’t belong
Without you by my side
I would just wither and die
Inside I just kept questioning
Questioning why
Why you chose to leave me
Why you broke my heart
Why you said such nasty things
Why you tore me apart
Well I knew that I couldn’t go on
And I hated you now so much
That I ran out side to the forest
And with reality I lost touch
In the deepest darkest corner
Of the deepest darkest wood
I took my knife from my back pocket
And thought of what we could
What we could have been
What we could of done
What you could of done to help me
To help from dying young
I knew one slit was all it would take
Just quick and deep
I did not shake
For in my hand I held a note
A note addressed to you
Telling you how I could not live
A life not involving you
And if I would not end it now
Then I would just die of pain
I hope that you felt guilty
Cause on that day it rained
So as I laid in my own blood
Dying to be free
My last thought was of you
And what we could have been

It's very annoying how you have commented on all of my poems in the same way you know!
