Gossip, Rumors, Lies

by Anthony   Oct 19, 2005

Jealous ears hear only lies,
This evil, cold sensation.
The lies are spread with no surprise,
Passed on by one cruel patron.

The hope of one tomorrow
Seems to grow into a fear,
As the people spread your sorrow,
Try hard not to shed a tear.

A cheating wife's stupidity,
A gay daughter put in public.
Two friends' new animosity,
And people think you're sick.

A wonderful, great life
That is always full of pain.
People know you used a knife
To spill your blood right down the drain.

Gossiping church women,
Rumor spreaders of the temple,
Reach out your arms and jump in,
To run away is just too simple.

Snapping out of daydreams,
Of simplistic, normal lives,
These small lies are what it seems,
Bad reputations is your prize.

Jealousy is complex,
Twists and turns of minor hatred.
You get sucked into a vortex,
Filled with burning lies of acid...
