Life without you

by Kristin   Oct 19, 2005

It's getting late.
Soon I will lay my head down.
My pillowcase will become soaked with tears,
and my eyes filled with sadness.
I will become weary,
and close my eyes to fall asleep.
It is here that I escape to another world,
a world that only includes the two of us.
You look at me the way you used to.
You tell me that you love me,
you put your arms around me,
and you make me feel alive.
Morning comes, and I leave this world,
as I open my eyes to another day.
Mornings are always the hardest,
because it is then that I realize
that this world with only you and me
was just a dream.
I now must face reality,
a reality that does not include you.
It is time to live another day,
but I don't want to,
if it means I have to live it without you.
