The Hand

by abcede   Oct 20, 2005

I was standing in the middle of
A road so small and bleak
Life was flying by so quickly
Its so hard. I was so weak
I was standing there with open arms
An invite to them all
My arms were getting tired
They were quickly going to fall
But just right then a hand reached out
And tugged my to the side
It filled my life with happiness
Restored my shattered pride
The hand was there to comfort me
In times so rough and hard
Through times of weakness it was there
Through times that left me scarred
Loneliness had disappeared
With confidence restored
Inner demons drowned by faith
Bad influences ignored
My rescuer had come to me
From that my life did mend
I owe it to my rescuer
The hand of a true friend
