Just say you remember

by Sharmyne   Oct 20, 2005

Just say you remember the sweet smell of grandma's perfume the way it smelled in the morning and how grandpa would snore on the recliner and have a smoke in his hand.
Or wake up in December and see nothing but the snow or sometimes the sparkles that lay across the land from the sunshine.
Just say you remember Cindy and Jaime and Kateri and me, all at once laughing and fighting.
Or running home to the house and playing Nintendo all day and night.
Just say you won't stop remembering this because someday when I need to look deep inside me you'll whisper to me and tell me the thing's that I don't remember......

A lovely poem with lots of emotional content. I really like it. We need to value those times from childhood and those people who shaped what we have become. Should the 'remember' on the next to the last line be 'remembering'? Always check spellings and grammar and edit if necessary and......keep writing.
