My Child

by Stephen Levant   Oct 20, 2005

I remember, as I held you to my breast, how you cried as air filled the lungs in your fragile little chest. What a blessing it was to hold you in my arms! Future revealed that you would be a charm. I remember those first steps, the first dress and the excitement of prom night. What a time it was when we had out first mother-daughter fight! All of the bruises, bumps, nick and cuts have been filed away in my book of memories. To all these things, what can a mother say? My child...I love you.
