Poems & Quotes

I heard the pleas of the innocent and cried,
I felt the sadness of those who wanted to die.

I saw the sighs of lovers and laughs of friends,
I saw talk of good feelings that they hoped would never end.

I read the questions of the young,
the words of the wise,
I heard the cries scream from their lungs,
and I felt the tears in their eyes.

Every laugh, worry, or tear,
takes me back through the years,
when life was spring,
cheerful, sad, something.

I read those poems,
I laughed, sighed, and cried,
I thought of my past home,
and felt something inside.

I felt the desire to take every tear, worry, and fear,
and show these kids something sincere.
For if they could only see the road from the other side,
perhaps we wouldn't read about so many who died.

I would show them the love they have for so long missed,
a gentle hug, smile, or kiss.
A listening ear, a voice of concern,
fuel in which happiness can burn.

I would teach them how life can be
for those who truly care to see.
I would bring them all together in a warm embrace,
and show them what a difference they can truly make.

-Dedicated to all of the young people who's poems and posts have inspired me to write this poem. Never forget that you are loved.
