Tearstains

by Truest Lies   Oct 21, 2005

Tearstain on my pillow,
Where you should have been,
Paws resting neatly,
Your black fur so clean.
I used to hug you,
And I used to hold you,
Now where are you?
Now, when I need you the most.

Theres been too much time to cry,
To much time to try to forget,
Because your memory is all I have left,
I want to hang on to it.

Without you poems dont rhyme,
Stories dont have coherent endings,
Discussions turn into arguments,
And Im left with tearstains,
And all this worthless time.

I write about you,
Like words could bring you back,
Facing a stack of emotions,
Facing the emptiness,
Alone.

I see your yellow eyes,
In Chloes face,
I dont love her more than you,
Dont worry love isnt a race.
Ill never forget you,
No matter how many other pets I have,
You are my everything,
Youre in my heart
And thats enough.

*I apologize that this is so much like Blacky, my other poem, but I love that cat and I love writing about him.
