If someone said they loved you
Ask them what love means
If someone said they missed you
Ask them 'where did I go?'
If someone said they lost you
Ask them if you were theirs
If someone said they're sorry
Ask them why

Then someone says they love you
And you ask 'what does love mean'
And they say that they don't know

Then they say they've missed you
And you ask them 'where did I go?'
And they say that they don't know

He says that he has lost you
And you ask 'was I yous?'
And he shakes his head

He finally says he's sorry
and you ask him why
Then a sad smile forms

He slowly walks away
And takes one last look back
'I don't know you at all'

The next time that she saw him
He asks her 'what does love mean?'
And she answers with her tears

Then she says she's missed him
And he asks 'where did I go?'
She whispers 'out of reach'

She says that she has lost him
And he asks 'was I ever yours?'
So she quietly says no

She finally says she's sorry
He asks her why
'I found out much too late'

She slowly walks away
Tears streaking her face
'I don't know you at all'
