Confusion As I Leave You

Perhaps I didn't know you
Maybe I didn't see
That you are not the person
I always thought you'd been
You always had a reason
To give life one more go
You gave me all the courage
That I could ever know
I don't know how to say this
But somehow please just see
I will never be the person
You taught me how to be
I want to find a person
Someone to let me try
To live my life the way
That you had made me lie
I leave you for my future
This path I have to take
