Degraded Love

by Whispering*Willow(Mercedes)   Oct 21, 2005

I couldn't hold on
And I couldn't let go
These every second choices
Break down the soul.

We raced for 17 months
Along thin lines of despair
Touching hopes and dreams
But not getting anywhere.

We drowned together
In a sea of sand
Baked forever by the Sun
Burning flesh in my hand

It was a fatal mistake
To throw it all away
Feeling open scars bleed together
Don't let the love degrade, I pray

Beautiful poem. Anger, lost love and honest emotions leaped from every word I read. Flow and diction flawless.

You have a great style of writing and I look forward to reading more from you. Check out my latest's poems "Rivers of the Heart"and "Love and War" would like your opinion.
