On My Mind

The warm air passed over me tonight
And I found myself standing there,
Eyes held shut,
Imagining what it would feel like
Having your arms around me
And in that moment
My heart grew a little fonder of you
I stood up on my tiptoes
And put my face to the sky, smiling
Hoping that somehow
My wishing of you
Would shine off the brightest star, twinkling
To let you know
That you were on my mind.
