Candle Of Death

Burn the candle to the wick
fleeting demons make me sick
Why do they ignore his rule?
to do right can be so cruel

i see this hollow, dark abuse
don't try and make up an excuse
the candle flickers, almost goes out
this fear i can do without

screams unheard will go ignored
"save me" i now begged my lord
the shimmering surface breaks
dragged down by all of my mistakes

lying at the oceans base
i can clearly see your face
i watch your smile begin to crack
walk away and don't look back

clawing at my last chance
above me drops of moonlight dance
if only i could lift my arms
i can't, the surface remains calm

i now will cry my last tear
and slowly watch it disappear
as it merges into my grave
i realise, i was your slave

surely now my flame has died
the candles wet from tears I've cried
never again will it light
