Despairing Beauty

by Whitney   Oct 22, 2005

I knew this girl
A good friend of mine
A blackened pearl
A clouded mind

She was beautiful in many ways
She held a hidden grace
that floated among the waves
upon a delicate lace

Yet her frailness gave away
She shattered among my lap
into a hopeless wave
A million pieces, a heartbreaking nap

She was lost in her own despair
Hidden among the rubble
running down her face a tearful pair
a hidden trouble

Darkness was her fear
The light her only friend
A friendly whispered in her ear
A light lifting end

She flew out of the darkness
Into a garden of beauty
A dying blackness
A blooming beast

A life long battle
of beauty and despair
A life altering tale
a wonderful pair
