Walk Part I

by Raychel   Oct 23, 2005

I walk miles.
"Hold On" is playing in my headphones on repeat.
I think for a while.
I don't know what I'm thinking about.

You could say that you loved me without meaning it.
I couldn't.
I'm afraid of the dark again.
Your warm smile isn't here.

I walk a little longer.
I don't know why.
You're not here.
You left me.

My pace is speeding up.
I feel as though I'm alone.
You're not here to brighten the darkness of today.
I wish you'd call my cell.

Soon I'm running;
Away;
Away from everyone.
You.
Me.
