Red Rose (revised)

by Emma   Oct 23, 2005

We planted a seed,
Ignoring how much it would need,
Water, sun and care, too,
I was neglectful and so were you.

It started as a rose colored a beautiful red,
Then it turned black, and started to shed.
Both you and I knew it was true,
Neither of us knew what to do.

Thorns gave us cuts to make us bleed,
You threw it away like a worthless weed,
That last cut was way too deep,
It was enough to put the flower to sleep.

I wish we would've let it grow,
I wish we would've gone a little slow,
I wish we would've tried,
Then our rose of love would've never died...
