I really need him
in times like this
to protect me from boys
and my first kiss

I need him to guide the way
in my life
for him to understand
that things are going to be O.K.
but it's a long hike

He needs to be here
to help me deal with heartbreak
and to track down
the scummy boy who broke it

I need him to be at my wedding
and embarrass me until i cry
I need him to be here as long as he can

and be as healthy as he can

but mainly a good man

and he will fight this sickness
until it's gone

Today is not the start of this disease
he is strong, he is tough
and he will never back off
