A Strange Wind Blows Through the Trees

by A Former Outcast   Oct 23, 2005

A strange wind blows through the trees,
A strange wind that is not here to please.
As the wind blows, the sky grows dark,
Plunging a shadow over the entire park.

The wind causes terror of the worst kind,
The type of terror that messes up the mind.
The answer from the leaders is too vague,
â??We must wage war on this unwholesome plague.â??

The people gladly follow this course,
They gladly wage war without remorse.
They find the innocent people nearby,
And decide that they should die.

It is only later that the truth is cleared,
That they did not do it, stupidity persevered.
And all the people decided without a doubt,
â??We could have judged better if our leader was not a lout.â??

And so most of the people hang their heads in shame,
While a few deny it, thinking they have no blame.
And so the people do now declare:
Make sure your leader is smarter than a pear.

I really like poems about nature and this one is no exception. I find that the Nature section of Poems and Quotes is where some of the best poems are found. I like writing Love poems and find that I incorporate many nature themes into them. There are a lot of poems in the Love section but there are only a few that really shine where in the nature section I find the opposite – most of them are very good. I enjoyed your poem and hope to read more from you in the future. If you like trees you can read a poem I wrote called – The memory of my shadow. The poem Searching also has a nature theme - I wrote this way too long ago when I was a kid and have thought many times to rewrite it as an adult. But somethings are better left the way they are no matter how badly you wish to change them.
