If You Must

by Caroline   Oct 24, 2005

When the sun starts to set
What do you do?
In my case, I just run
Get my mind off of you
But it's impossible
Because of who you are
Better than a friend
You're my shining star
Even though if our friendship
Is starting to rot
I'll just try to remember all the great memories
That can never be bought
Things turn out for the best
Well, at least that's what I keep saying
To not have tears in my eyes
Hoping our whole friendship was never a lie
Maybe one day you'll understand
How much you mean to me
You were my whole world
That revolved around me
Hopefully, you still care
It doesn't seem like it any more
I feel like I was used
Even though I don't want for you to be accused
Maybe, It was me that drove you away
Maybe, I loved you too much
That you just couldn't take
At the same time, I think it's my fault
I made the sun set
Knowing it'll never shine again
If I could go back to the beginning I would
Just to prove to you once again
I loved you as much as I could
Don't say I never loved you
Don't say I never cared
You were always the first thing on my mind
Now without you
I just feel bare
Rise again my sunshine
Rise again if you must
Don't hurt me once again
You've already hurt me enough....
